This should be done once yearly to maintain optimal health. Your fasting blood sugar and fasting cholesterol are ordered during this visit.

Routine pap smears and prostate exams

This is recommended to be done once yearly to maintain optimal health. Routine mammogams, pap smear, and contraception will be discussed for women. For men, yearly prostate exam and PSA will be ordered after age 50 or age 40 if strong family history of prostate cancer.
