Dr Savitha Susarla is a board certified family practice physician who believes in combining the mind, body, and spirit to achieve optimal health. She went to college at the University of Illinois Urbana Champaign where she graduated with academic distinction in psychology and biology. She then graduated from the Kansas City University of Medicine and Biosciences and then did residency training at the Cook County/Loyola family medicine program. She practices what she preaches as she has been practicing yoga for 20 years, a vegetarian, a triathlete, plays the sitar, and an avid traveler. Dr Susarla has extensive traning in dermatologic disorders and cosmetic medicine since 2005. She serves as Assistant Clinical Professor at Chicago College of Osteopathic Medicine where she gets involved in clinical training of medical and physician assistant students in family medicine. She opened up OM Medispa to advance the quality of care because patients were not receiving the “answers” to the health concerns with the standard practice of medicine. OM Medispa focuses on the human being as a entire entity. Thus, she envisioned extension of preventive medicine and family medicine along with other services such as aesthetic medicine, bioidentical hormones, nutrition/exercise counseling, yoga, massage and more. OM Medispa continues to grow and mold to meet the healthcare needs of the community. |

Hello, my name is Sue Baccam. I have been with OM Medispa since March 2008. I am a licensed esthetician, nail technician, and student. Working for Dr. Susarla is very inspiring; it has motivated me to continue my education and challenge myself further by aspiring to become a nurse someday. The greatest reward is to gain the trust of clients, by striving for honest education and realistic goals through proper management of client’s expectations. I enjoy explaining the physiological effects of what each treatment does for the skin’s matrix. I realize that in order to accomplish any clinical results, listening to the emotion of the client comes first. When a client finally feels positive towards her skin, it is very satisfying and fulfilling. I developed the waterless pedicure for OM Medispa so that clients can receive a private, relaxing treatment for their feet. This luxurious service is top sanitation and very indulging. I have also collaborated with Dr. Susarla to offer an advanced esthetic workshop in Illinois. OM Medispa is approved by the state to offer continuing education hours for estheticians, so that they can keep their license current. Students see live demonstrations of lasers, injections, microdermabrasions, chemical peels, along with lectures and theories of treatment protocols, and esthetician’s primary role with a physician. This active learning allows them to see a glimpse of what a medical spa entails. I am grateful to be in this fascinating industry where technology and skin care continues to advance, and also building a trusting relationship with my clients in order for them to achieve improvement in texture, reflection, product absorption, increased cell turnover, and collagen production through stimulating fibroblast. |

Magdalena has been a licensed Massage Therapist for 12 years whose main vision has been to provide her clientele with an improved quality of life. The Therapist-Client relationship has been built on the trust that her therapeutic process is non-judgemental, reliable, and supportive. She believes that massage does not only work on the physical strains, but involves the mind and body working together to help restore a clients’ balance. By using techniques tailored for each individual she is able to not only give her clients “temporary relief” from pain, but help them acquire permanent control over their vital energy. She uses “intelligent touch” to locate the source of her client’s pain and to deliver therapeutic relief. She believes that deep tissue doesn’t have to be a painful experience to be effective, and truly therapeutic work begins with communication between the client and therapist. Her goal is to create a safe, relaxed, comfortable environment for self-healing through positive touch Clients give kudos on her massage therapist abilities as well as the positive energy that she brings into the session. She enjoyed working with Chiropractor her first 3 years as a therapist assisting patients with chronic pain who benefited greatly from medical massage therapy. Her next few years were spent at a Sports Facility where she collaborated with the licensed staff to help with the recovery process from many sports related injuries as well as continue to encourage people with their dedication to being fit and healthy. Her therapy then lead her to a spa atmosphere where she had the benefit of working on the vast benefits of pure relaxation when it comes to therapeutic massages. She acquired a great many skills of working the holistic way of living and is able to share this knowledge with her recurring clientele. She has now joined forces with OM Medispa in order to provide and use all her skills in one perfect setting and work with together with the staff in order to ensure that everyone receives the best quality treatment and expertise that everyone deserves. |
